  1. Choose the gift

    Pick any product you sell. Offer one gift, or let shoppers choose from a few.

  2. Set the rule

    Spend over €50, buy from a collection, or add a certain number of items. Add higher tiers for bigger baskets.

  3. Go live

    The gift goes into the cart when a shopper qualifies and comes out if they drop below. The cart inspector shows you why a gift did or didn't apply.

Prices are in US dollars and billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice, so there is nothing else to sign up for. Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial, and paying yearly saves about 20%. Cancel by uninstalling, and billing stops with it.

Built by a merchant

I ran gift with purchase promotions on a busy, multi-currency Shopify Plus store for years. The apps behind them charged more in our best months, filled the catalogue with copies of our products, and now and then gave gifts away when they shouldn't have.

Sweetener is the app I wanted then: it does gifts and nothing else, it keeps your order data clean, and it costs the same whether you have a quiet month or a record one.

Questions

Will it slow my store down?

It adds one small script that loads after your page and never gets in the way of your cart. If it hits a problem, your store carries on without it.

Does it work with my theme?

Sweetener switches on from the theme editor as an app embed, so it works with Online Store 2.0 themes without any code changes. It picks up your theme's fonts and colours.

Does it create extra products?

Never. The gift is the product you already sell, at €0 for that order. Your stock counts and SKUs stay exactly as they are.

What happens if I go over the free plan's 25 orders?

Your campaign keeps running. We'll let you know, and you can upgrade whenever suits.

What's left behind if I uninstall?

Nothing. We remove our discounts and settings, and we never touched your theme code in the first place.
